Make English our official language

I believe the time has come for us as a country to unite around a mandate that we have one official language.

Many years ago, I read articles about countries that insist on one language and the legitimate arguments that were made to support this effort. I also have noticed that slowly but surely, Spanish has become our second language for official use.

My thought very simply is to focus on what could and should unify us. When I see the example of what is happening in Ukraine with half the country speaking Russian and the takeover of territory under the guise of protecting Russians, I’m convinced that we should insist on English as our official language.

This type of mandate would protect everyone in this country, no matter where they are from, and help ensure our country’s future.

It would also unite us, whereas two languages being used in a country can lead to certain divisions that none of us needs or wants.
