Critical-injury crash
A 24-year-old Las Vegas man was critically injured this morning when the car he was driving ran off Dean Martin Drive near Tropicana Avenue and crashed into a light pole, Metro Police reported.
Richard Craig Dickerson Jr. was driving a 2008 Mercury Milan north on Dean Martin at 12:54 a.m. when he failed to negotiate a curve, ran onto the sidewalk and hit the light pole and a chain-link fence, police said.
Dickerson, who was not wearing a seat belt, suffered critical injuries and was taken to University Medical Center, police said.
The wreck is under investigation.
