Las Vegas woman convicted of Medicaid fraud

A Las Vegas woman has been given a suspended sentence on her conviction for Medicaid fraud.

Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto says 33-year-old Romeeka Naytesa Richardson also was ordered Tuesday to perform 80 hours of community service and pay $25,000 in penalties and restitution.

A 150-day jail sentence was suspended by the judge.

Richardson was sentenced for one gross misdemeanor offense of intentional failure to maintain adequate records.

Prosecutors say Richardson's company, All About You Behavioral Health Services, submitted claims to Medicaid for services that were not provided.

Additionally, the attorney general's office says Richardson paid an employee to fill out progress notes as if that employee had provided services.
