It’s going to be a hot weekend; here’s where you can splash and cool off

It's going to be a hot weekend in Las Vegas — the hottest of the year so far.

With forecasts calling for 101-degree highs Friday and Saturday, Southern Nevadans are going to be looking for ways to cool off.

Since it's only the middle of May, some public pools aren't yet open for the summer. But if you like to have fun while you get wet, the region's parks have lots of splash pads and water features that are open.

Here's a list of the splash pads and water features you can take advantage of right now:

Las Vegas

Splash pad and water play animals at most Las Vegas parks are on during park hours, from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Rainbow Family Park and Centennial Hills Park close at 10 p.m. The water play areas at Polly Gonzalez Memorial Park and Teton Trails Park are not on until 9 a.m. on school days.
