Suspect in Tahoe bank robbery nabbed in Carson City

CARSON CITY — A man suspected of robbing a bank at Lake Tahoe with a handgun led state troopers and local deputies on a short car and foot chase before he was arrested in Carson City.

Troopers say 55-year-old Brent Muir of Carson City allegedly robbed the Plumas Bank in Kings Beach, California, about 8:30 a.m. Friday.

A Nevada patrolman first spotted Muir in a 2008 Chevrolet Impala near Sand Harbor.

With help from the FBI, troopers and deputies caught up with him in south Carson City, where he jumped out of the car and ran.

Douglas County deputies apprehended him, and found a gun and money in the car.

Muir was arrested for suspicion of eluding and reckless driving.

Robbery charges are pending as the FBI and Placer County deputies investigate.
