Bullpen carries 51s to win at Fresno

Matt den Dekker’s two-run double in the seventh inning today lifted the Las Vegas 51s to a 3-2 victory against the host Fresno Grizzlies.

Andrew Brown accounted for the other Las Vegas (32-13) run with a solo home run in the fourth inning, helping the 51s snap a brief two-game losing streak.

Three Las Vegas relievers combined to pitch four scoreless innings to close the game. Buddy Carlyle earned the win, Zack Thornton pitched two innings for the hold and Vic Black worked the ninth inning for his seventh save.

The series resumes at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday in Fresno. Las Vegas returns to Cashman Field Friday to face Sacramento, the Triple-A affiliate of the Oakland A’s.
