The Las Vegas 51s were limited to six hits today in a 5-4 loss at the Fresno Grizzlies.

Las Vegas (32-14) grabbed a 4-3 lead in the fourth inning on Kirk Nieuwenhuis’ two-run home run, but Fresno blanked the 51s the rest of the way and scored twice in the eighth inning to grab the Pacific Coast League win.

Omar Quintanilla had a solo home run in the third inning for Las Vegas, Zach Lutz finished with two hits and top pitching prospect Noah Syndergaard struck out six in five innings.

The series resumes at 7:05 p.m. Thursday in Fresno. Las Vegas returns to Cashman Field Friday to face Sacramento, the Triple-A affiliate of the Oakland A’s.
