Doyle McManus’ Saturday column “The GOP’s climate change dance” could easily be the final word on the subject; in fact, I wish it were.
Climate change has become pure politics. The scientific truth of the matter is forever unprovable, as the left has morphed the discussion from the provable “global warming” to the ultimate vagueness of “climate change.” Thanks to the media and government’s propaganda, belief in the hazy but alarming concept is very much acceptable to the average voter.
Here is where McManus could have simplified his whole proposition: Any politician worth his soapbox should just take the position that man is responsible for climate change in some unknowable amount. It’s the perfect position — completely unassailable. Best of all, should the politician be elected, the position will support pretty much any political end.
