Authorities were alerted to a body on the shoulder of Interstate 15 spotted by a driver around 6:15 a.m. Sunday, according to a news release from the San Bernadino County Coroner's Office.
The Nevada Highway Patrol as well as paramedics responded to the scene, about one mile south of the Nevada state line. The woman, who is white and remains unidentified, was pronounced deceased. With additional support from the California Highway Patrol, it was determined she did not die from a traffic accident. An autopsy will be conducted.
