There was no letdown from Desert Pines after cracking the Sun’s top 10 poll.

The Jaguars responded to being ranked for the first time this season by obliterating Del Sol 48-6. Desert Pines has now outscored its opponents 90-12 over the last two weeks.

“We’ve cleaned up the mistakes and penalties,” Desert Pines coach Tico Rodriguez said. “We’re just playing the right type of football. Every week, we’re progressing.”

Desert Pines is also witnessing the maturation of sophomore running back Isaiah Morris, who had another big night against the Dragons.

Morris ran for 135 yards and two touchdowns on 11 carries. His scores came from 40 and 50 yards out.

His sophomore classmate, Marckell Grayson, tossed three scores. Grayson found senior Andre Watts for two touchdowns, and threw another to sophomore Jalen Graves.
