Nevada Assemblyman Pete Livermore dies of heart attack

Republican Assemblyman Pete Livermore died today at the Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center, according to reports from CarsonNow.org.

The Nevada Appeal reported the cause of death was a heart attack. He was 73.

The Carson City lawmaker was elected in 2010 but wasn’t seeking another term in the Assembly.

Assembly Minority Leader Pat Hickey posted on Twitter that Livermore loved “his family, Nevada and — most of all — Carson City.”

Livermore was born in 1941 in New Orleans. He is survived by his wife, Laurie, and 3 children, Richard, Sheri and Jackie, according to CarsonNow.org.

Livermore is the second state lawmaker to die in the past week.

Assemblyman Joe Hogan, 77, died Friday after suffering a stroke more than seven weeks ago.
