Kode Mwirig and Zach Loveland each caught two touchdown passes today for the Las Vegas High football team in a 49-16 win at Silverado.

Trevor Swenson passed for four touchdown for the Wildcats, who won their third straight game to improve to 3-0 in the Northeast League.

Elijah Hicks rushed for a pair of touchdowns for Las Vegas, helping them lead 28-2 at halftime.

“We are finding our identity,” Las Vegas coach James Thurman said. “Hopefully we are peaking at the right time.”

Las Vegas hosts Liberty next week in the regular season finale. A Las Vegas victory would not only give the Wildcats the league title, it would also give them home field advantage in next month’s Sunrise Regional playoffs.

“They run it and they throw it efficiently. And they play really good defense,” Thurman said of Liberty. “We have to be mistake-free on offense and squeak out one more point than they do.”
