Arbor View High School football players Mitchell Durkee, Malik Noshi and Herman Gray on Monday, July 21, 2014.

Arbor View put on a vintage performance Friday night, riding an explosive offense to a 41-20 victory over host Basic.

Charles Louch led the team in rushing with 158 yards and two touchdowns. Herman Gray fell in close behind with 117 yards and two touchdowns of his own.

Bryce Poster went to the air 14 times, completing nine of his passes with two touchdowns. Mitchell Durkee and Maurice Harvey were on the receiving end of the scores.

The Aggies had built a 21-0 lead by halftime.

“Basic played well and hung right in there after that,” Arbor View coach Dan Barnson said.

Basic quarterback Aeneas McAllister kept his team competitive in the second half, throwing for nearly 200 yards and two touchdowns.

“We just kind of controlled the clock in the second half,” Barnson said. “We kind of went into cruise control, and we definitely can’t just put it into cruise control next week against Coronado. Next week will be a big one.”
