After two days of selling only to pre-registered patients, the Las Vegas area’s first medical marijuana dispensary is now open to the card-carrying masses.
Euphoria Wellness, 7785 S. Jones Blvd., opened to the public today at 10 a.m. following a limited launch Monday. That means any patient with a medical marijuana card can now purchase from the dispensary.
About a dozen people were in line at 10 a.m. with the store’s managers expecting steady traffic throughout the day.
Customers will be limited to a maximum half ounce of marijuana per purchase due to limited supplies. A half ounce costs $200.
Euphoria Wellness plans to lift that cap once more growing facilities are producing cannabis, although patients will still be restricted to a maximum purchase of 2.5 ounces per two weeks under state law.
Euphoria Wellness is the first dispensary to open in the Las Vegas area under new rules created by the Legislature in 2013.
Although it was ready to launch in April with plans to be the first dispensary in Nevada, Euphoria Wellness was delayed by regulatory issues. The state’s first dispensary, Silver State Relief, opened last month in Sparks.
