Metro vehicle involved in three-car collision near UNLV

An unmarked Metro Police car was involved in a three-vehicle collision near UNLV on Saturday night.

Also according to Metro:

The incident occurred at 9:57 p.m., when a 2014 Chevrolet Impala belonging to Metro Police was traveling south on Paradise Road. As it crossed Flamingo Road on a red signal with its red lights and siren activated, it struck the left front side of a Honda Accord traveling east on Flamingo Road, crossing Paradise on a green signal.

Both vehicles continued east on Flamingo as the back of the Impala was struck by the front of a Honda CRV that also was traveling east on Flamingo on a green signal.

All three cars came to rest on Flamingo Road, just east of the intersection.

The occupants of the Accord and CRV were taken to Sunrise Hospital with minor injuries, where they were treated and released.

The driver of the unmarked police vehicle did not sustain any injuries.

The incident remains under investigation.
