Metro Police are seeking the public's assistance in locating a vehicle and its occupants after a road-rage incident left one woman dead from a shot in the head.

On Thursday, Metro Police were dispatched to a residence located in the 7900 block of Mount Shasta Circle upon reports that a woman, later identified as Tammy Meyers, 44, had been shot. Upon arriving, police located Meyers suffering from a gunshot wound, according to a Metro press release. She was transported to University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries and died Saturday night.

The investigation by Metro Police's violent crime section indicated that the mother had been conducting a driving lesson with her 15-year-old daughter in the parking lot of a school nearby. At the end of the lesson, Meyers was driving home when she had a near-collision with another vehicle, the release said. The victim and the other driver got into a verbal confrontation.

The male driver then followed the mother and daughter to their home on Mount Shasta Circle. Meyers' eldest son came out of the home at the prompting of his mother, and he was armed with a handgun to help. The preliminary investigation indicates that some time later, the suspect vehicle appeared on the street and multiple shotes were fired. Meyers was struck by one round, according to the Metro press release. The son fired multiple shots at the fleeing car.

As of Saturday, no suspect or suspects had been identified, and the car had not be identified, according to Metro Police. The vehicle can only be described as a four-door grey or silver sedan that may have damage to the front driver's side. It is also possible that the car has damage from gunfire.

According to the release, one of the occupants in the vehicle is described as a white male, approximately 25 years of age, about 6 feet tall and weighing approximately 180 pounds. He has dirty blonde hair worn in a spiked style and hazel or blue eyes.

Anyone with information about the identity or whereabouts of the individual or the vehicle is urged to contact Metro Police's violent crimes section at 702-828-5634. To remain anonymous, call Crime Stopper at 702-385-5555.
