Fiorina expanding presidential campaign into Nevada

CARSON CITY — Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina is expanding her campaign into Nevada.

The former Hewlett-Packard CEO announced on Tuesday that former state Senator Sue Lowden will run her Nevada campaign operations, and will host a fundraising event in Las Vegas next week.

Lowden, who mounted an unsuccessful bid for Lieutenant Governor last year, said in a statement that she's supporting Fiorina because of her economic and technological experience.

Lowden and a handful of current and former Republican elected officials will host Fiorina at a fundraiser in the Bootlegger Italian Bistro on July 18, near the Las Vegas Strip. The event is open to the public.

The trip marks Fiorina's first visit to Nevada since announcing her presidential bid in May.
