A man involved in a high-speed wreck that killed two women has been denied bail, court officials said.

The 22-year-old Henderson man, Seong Mo Lee, faces felony driving under the influence charges following a crash Thursday at Boulder Highway and Russell Road.

The Clark County Coroner's office identified the victims as 17-year-old Kamesha Gilmore and 18-year-old Gabriell Thomas. Both were from Las Vegas and died of blunt force trauma.

At a court hearing today, Lee was ordered held without bail and is expected back in court on Friday.

According to Metro Police, a silver 2014 Nissan Versa was struck by a white 2014 Mercedes Benz E350 about 1:30 a.m. Thursday.

The Nissan was headed north in the left turn lane of Boulder Highway and tried to make a U-turn when the southbound Mercedes struck it, causing the Nissan to roll onto its roof, police said.

The Mercedes demolished the Nissan, pushing it more than 100 yards down Boulder Highway, police said.

Fire crews were called to the scene to extract the driver and passenger of the Nissan from the car, but before crews arrived, officials determined both women had died, Metro Lt. Robert Smith said.

A witness reported Lee, who suffered minor injuries, was driving “extremely fast,” Smith said.

Las Vegas Sun reporter Pashtana Usufzy and the Associated Press contributed to this report.
