Las Vegas resident killed in four-car, Saturday-night crash identified

A 26-year-old man who died Saturday in a crash in the eastern part of the valley has been identified by the Clark County Coroner's office as Khalil Ali Tiner.

Tiner, a Las Vegas resident, was killed when 19-year-old Luis Lopez ran a red light at the intersection of Lake Mead Boulevard and Mount Hood Street, striking the 2006 Ford Mustang Tiner was driving.

According to Metro Police:

Lopez was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado west on Lake Mead Boulevard, approaching Mount Hood Street, about 8:20 a.m. He failed to stop at a red light and struck the Mustang, which was traveling southbound at the intersection. The Silverado then struck a 2014 Honda Odyssey, and debris from the crash hit an eastbound Chevrolet Impala.

Tiner was killed, while passenger Tyki Sato, 30, of Las Vegas, suffered serious injuries. The Odyssey's driver, Conrado Mas, 53, of Las Vegas, suffered minor injuries, and the Impala's driver, Santiago Manrique, 45, of Las Vegas, was not injured. Lopez also suffered minor injuries.

Lopez, Sato and Mas were taken to University Medical Center.

After he was treated, Lopez was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on suspicion of DUI causing death and DUI with substantial bodily harm.

The crash remains under investigation; it is the 91st traffic-related fatality in the department's jurisdiction this year.
