A man died Friday evening after being stabbed near Washington Avenue and H Street, according to Metro Police.
Police were called about 8:40 p.m. to the 700 block of West Adams Avenue, Lt. Kendall Bell said.
Officers found the man lying on the ground, suffering from an apparent stab wound. He was taken to University Medical Center, where he died, Bell said.
The man was with a group of people near the street when an argument turned into a physical fight between another male and him, police said. The man fell to the ground and the group of people fled on foot.
The suspect was described as a light-skinned black male wearing dark pants and a white T-shirt.
The motive is unknown and remains under investigation, police said. This is the 114th suspected homicide investigated by Metro in 2015.
