A pedestrian was hospitalized in critical condition after she was hit by a pickup truck this morning while crossing Spring Mountain Road, according to Metro Police.

Yongming Chen, 61, of Las Vegas was walking across the street about 9:40 a.m. when she was hit by a Toyota Tacoma that was headed south on Lindell Road and turned left onto Spring Mountain, police said.

She was in a crosswalk, though it is unclear if she pressed the button to get a walk signal before crossing, Sgt. Richard Strader said.

The truck was facing a green light when it turned, police said.

Chen was taken to University Medical Center. Nobody else was injured.

The 32-year-old Las Vegas woman driving the pickup remained on the scene, police said. A 2-year-old boy and a 5-year-old girl also were in the truck.

The crash remains under investigation.
