Arbor View can finally talk about the biggest game of the season.

The Aggies improved to 7-1 overall and 3-0 in the Sunset Northwest division with a 55-20 victory over Cimarron-Memorial on the road Friday night, so next Thursday’s game against archrival Centennial is officially for the league championship.

“We’re going to work tomorrow morning,” Arbor View coach Dan Barnson said. “The kids are coming in and everyone is going to get ready.”

Many of the Aggies’ stars already looked prepared against the Spartans. Sophomore running back Deago Stubbs ran for 110 yards on six carries and two touchdowns while senior back Morris Jackson carried the ball twice for 50 yards and a touchdown. Phenix Calinao picked up 59 yards on five carries.

A strong defensive effort led by senior Gage Motl, who had two sacks and two tackles for loss, had Arbor View up 42-0 at halftime. The Aggies emptied their bench and gave everyone an opportunity to play in the second half.

“They gave up some touchdowns but that’s OK,” Barnson said. “It was nice to get all the kids in there.”
