The Wynn will host next month’s Democratic presidential debate, the resort said in a statement today.

The Democratic Party had previously announced that it would host a debate in Nevada on Oct. 13, but the resort’s statement was the first official confirmation of where the event will take place.

Wynn Resorts CEO Steve Wynn drew a connection between the debate, his employees and their families. “Ours is a team of great diversity, representing every race, gender, religion, sexual orientation and political philosophy,” Wynn said in the statement. “To have the privilege of being intimately involved in the American political process by hosting this debate is a moment of great pride and excitement for all of us.”

The Las Vegas debate is the first of six scheduled Democratic debates. The Democratic Party has previously said that the remaining five will be held in Des Moines, Iowa; Manchester, N.H.; Charleston, S.C.; Miami and a city to be announced in Wisconsin. The party has not yet made any public statements about having the Oct. 13 debate at the Wynn.
