RJ Hubert finally found some co-stars in Moapa Valley’s 54-13 road victory over Sunrise Mountain Friday night.

The senior receiver provided his usual production — scoring four touchdowns with nearly 200 all-purpose yards — but the Pirates’ successes didn’t end there.

“We had some points from someone other than RJ tonight so that was nice,” Moapa Valley coach Brent Lewis cracked.

Trystin Deal and Sterling Simmons each got over the 100-yard rushing barrier, and plunged into the end zone for a touchdown. Nate Cox threw the touchdown pass to Hubert.

Moapa Valley jumped out on Sunrise Mountain from the beginning to respond from a loss to Desert Pines last week, but expects a bigger challenge against Division 1 opponent Legacy next week.

“It will be a good test for us,” Lewis said.
