An eight-vehicle pileup on Interstate 15 southbound near Charleston Boulevard sent three people to the hospital and was causing traffic delays in the area Wednesday evening, according to Nevada Highway Patrol.
The crash was reported about 7:30 p.m. between Charleston Boulevard and Sahara Avenue, Trooper Loy Hixson said.
One vehicle was blocking the left shoulder, two vehicles were blocking the right shoulder and the others were scattered between the travel lanes on the interstate, he said.
One center lane was open as of about 8:30 p.m., he said.
The cause of the crash has not yet been determined, he said.
Three adults were taken to University Medical Center with nonlife-threatening injuries, Hixson said.
Troopers are also investigating two other incidents in that area, causing traffic delays, he said.
Those incidents are minor, he said.
