Van Morrison to headline at Caesars Palace in January

Van Morrison, known for songs such as “Brown Eyed Girl” and “Moondance,” will headline Jan. 13 and 14 at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace.

Show times are scheduled for 8 p.m., and tickets for both performances go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday.

A CD of the upcoming album, “Keep Me Singing,” will be included with every ticket ordered, according to Caesars Entertainment. Information about CD redemption will be provided to ticketholders following purchase, officials said. The album is available Sept. 30.

Ticket prices are $257, $202, $157, $106.50 or $56.50. Orders are subject to additional service charges and fees. For groups of 10 or more, call 866-574-3851.

Morrison grew up on his father’s collection of blues, country and gospel music and by the age of 13, he was working as a traveling musician playing guitar and saxophone in several bands.

In 1964, he formed the group Them, which would go on to record the much-covered hits “Gloria” and “Here Comes the Night.”

A few years later, he released the Top 40 pop sensation “Brown Eyed Girl” and began his career as a successful solo musician. He has since released more than 30 albums.

Morrison has earned six Grammys and is a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
