Experts forecast state budget increase

Economic experts say the state will have another $541.3 million to spend in the next budget compared to 2015.

The Nevada Appeal reports the expected increase takes into account deductions from tax credits.

Economic Forum Chairman Ken Wiles said the state is rebounding from the recession and is on a stable path of growth.

The forum is made up of five governor-appointed experts who predict what they state will be able to spend based on revenue forecasts.

He said tax revenue is expected to increase across all categories.

Forum members expect increases in sales and use taxes as well as gaming revenue.
