Man suffers smoke inhalation, dog rescued in house fire

Firefighters treated a man for smoke inhalation and rescued a dog from a burning house after an electrical fire Tuesday night in the southeast valley, according to the Henderson Fire Department.

The man came home about 6 p.m. and found smoke in the single-story house in the 2000 block of Darwin Circle, near Warm Springs and Pecos roads, officials said.

Firefighters located the fire in the bedroom and extinguished it before it spread to the rest of the house, officials said.

A man was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation, officials said.

Firefighters also found a dog in the house that was having trouble breathing. They took it outside and treated it with a pet oxygen mask until its breathing improved, officials said.

One adult, two children and two pets were displaced by the fire, which caused an estimated $53,800 in damage, officials said.
