A California man might have experienced "medical distress" in a crash near Harmon and Polaris avenues this afternoon.
The man died at Spring Valley Hospital, Metro Police said.
Also according to police:
The 61-year-old from West Hills, Calif., was driving south on Polaris approaching Naples Avenue in a 2000 Chrysler Town & Country minivan when, "for unknown reasons," he veered to the side of the road onto a sidewalk. He came to a stop with the right side tires on the west sidewalk.
A witness who approached the minivan told police the driver seemed to have been suffering from a medical episode.
The crash remains under investigation, and the man will be identified by the Clark County coroner's office.
