Arraignment has been postponed for a former Clark County elected official facing a drunken driving charge.

Tom Collins didn't appear in person Monday in Las Vegas Justice Court, while attorney Michael Pariente sought an extra day to confirm he'll represent Collins in the case.

The judge reset the hearing for Tuesday.

The 65-year-old former Democratic state lawmaker and Clark County commissioner was arrested Dec. 11 after crashing his vehicle while leaving the National Finals Rodeo at the Thomas & Mack Center.

Prosecutor Brian Rutledge says Collins' blood-alcohol level was measured at 0.11 percent. That's above the legal limit of 0.08 percent.

Collins lives in North Las Vegas. His legal name is Clarence Weldon Collins Jr.

He resigned in August from the commission, citing unspecified family matters.
