Man on bicycle in east valley shot and killed; assailant unknown

A man riding a bicycle was shot and killed early Saturday in the east valley.

According to Metro Police:

Officers responded about 4:20 a.m. to the 4800 block of East Owens Avenue, near North Nellis Boulevard, where they found the man lying in a parking lot suffering from apparent gun wounds. They learned a “newer model” black pickup truck had pulled up, and someone had fired several rounds at the man.

The man stumbled into a parking lot, where he collapsed. He was taken to University Medical Center, where he later died.

No one has been arrested. This is the seventh homicide investigated by Metro Police in 2016.
