Henderson fire does $55K in damage; occupants unhurt

A house fire in Henderson caused an estimated $55,000 in damage Saturday night.

According to the Henderson Fire Department:

Crews responded to the two-story, single-family home on Mayan Drive, near West Sunset Road and North Arroyo Grande, about 10 p.m.

They noticed smoke and flames coming from the attic and quickly extinguished it. The fire was confined to the attic.

The two adult occupants had discovered the fire. They left safely and called 9-1-1. They were displaced and are being assisted by the American Red Cross.

No injuries were reported.
