Gusty winds, showers and a slight chance of snowfall will help commemorate the valley's transition into February.

According to the National Weather Service:

The valley should expect rain for much of this afternoon, with showers in the evening and after midnight as well.

Highs today range from 52 to 59 degrees, with winds reaching between 10 to 20 mph.

Lows tonight range from 39 to 45 degrees, with wind gusts up to 45 mph.

Monday will be mostly cloudy with a 50 percent chance for rain and snowfall and highs ranging from 43 to 47 degrees. Winds are expected to reach speeds of 20 to 30 mph.

If snowflakes do fall, they will most likely come down in the western part of the valley and in areas of high terrain, and they are not expected to accumulate, according to meteorologist Stan Czyzyk.

Lows for Monday evening will range from 28 to 34 degrees, with northwesterly winds at 10 to 15 mph.
