A woman in a wheelchair is in the hospital after being struck by a pickup truck in a hit-and-run this afternoon in the central valley, according to Metro Police.
The incident happened about 1 p.m. in a crosswalk at Decatur Boulevard and Washington Avenue, police said. A dark-colored pickup south on Decatur hit the woman and left the scene, police said.
The woman was taken to University Medical Center with “significant injuries,” police said.
The southbound lanes on Decatur were closed as officers investigated.
