An armed person trying to conduct a citizen's arrest shot at a theft suspect at a south valley Target store Thursday evening, according to Metro Police.
Officers were called about 5:30 p.m. to the store in the 4100 block of Blue Diamond Road, near Valley View Boulevard, Metro Lt. Timothy Hatchett said.
Also according to Hatchett:
Store security was in a struggle with a person they suspected of stealing merchandise. An armed and uninvolved citizen tried to detain the suspect and shot at the suspect's vehicle as it left.
It wasn't immediately known if the suspect, who remained outstanding as of 8 p.m., was wounded.
Detectives were interviewing the armed citizen to find out what transpired. It wasn't immediately known if any charges were pending.
