This Feb. 13, 2008, file photo shows the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in Los Angeles. The aging Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum is slated for a major overhaul, but it’s not known how much work will be needed to harden the structure against earthquakes in time to make a credible bid for the 2024 Olympics.

UNLV’s trip to USC has been moved up one season to 2018, both schools announced today.

The Rebels will face the Trojans on Saturday, Sept. 1, 2018, at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. The game was originally scheduled for Aug. 31, 2019.

UNLV will receive a guaranteed $1.15 million for the game. With the move, the Rebels will now play road games at the following programs in four straight seasons: Michigan (2015), UCLA, Ohio State and USC.

Only the UCLA game was part of a home-and-home. The other three are buy games that will net a total of $3.45 million.

UNLV’s only other game currently on the schedule for the 2018 season is a home game on Sept. 22 against Arkansas State.
