Man shot while walking dies at hospital

A 20-year-old man shot Wednesday while walking near Washington Avenue and Decatur Boulevard has died, according to Metro Police.

He died Saturday at University Medical Center, police said.

Officers responded about 9:15 p.m. Wednesday to the 5100 block of Vermont Avenue, where a man reported that he had been shot, police said.

The victim was walking when a man driving a black, four-door vehicle exchanged words with him and shot him once before driving away, police said.

As of this morning, no suspect had been identified. No motive has been determined, police said.

The Clark County Coroner’s Office has not yet released the victim’s name.
