An armed suspect was gravely wounded in a shooting at a North Las Vegas convenience store that police said he was robbing near Cheyenne Avenue and Civic Center Drive.
Officers responded about 3:30 a.m. to a silent alarm in the store located in the 2100 block of Cheyenne, police said.
Also according to police:
The slain man, who is suspected in a series of robberies, entered the store and held up a clerk at gunpoint. A second employee witnessed the robbery and shot the suspect.
The wounded suspect was able to flee a short distance before collapsing. He died at University Medical Center.
The shooter spoke to detectives and the investigation is ongoing. No arrests have been made.
