A man who died after a two-vehicle crash in the central valley this morning may have suffered a medical episode, according to Metro Police.

The wreck happened about 9 a.m. in the area of Sahara Avenue and Valley View Boulevard, police said.

The 52-year-old man from Chicago was driving a 2016 Hyundai Sonata north on Valley View when he crossed into oncoming traffic, colliding with a 2014 Dodge Journey compact SUV, police said.

The man, who was unresponsive, was taken to Valley Hospital Medical Center, where he later died, police said. The man may have died from a medical episode prior to the crash, police said. The Clark County Coroner’s Office will determine the cause of death.

The 31-year-old driver of the SUV was not injured, police said.

This collision remains under investigation.
