Jacob Leavitt carried the ball 11 times for 180 yards and two touchdowns tonight for the Moapa Valley High football team in a 37-0 win against visiting Boulder City.

Quarterback Daxton Longman had an efficient night for the Pirates (3-2, 1-0 Sunrise League), completing 9-of-12 passes for 101 yards and two touchdowns. Dayton Wolfley and Derek Reese had the scoring receptions.

“We primarily stuck to running the ball today. We grounded them out,” Moapa Valley coach Brent Lewis said. “That’s when we are at our best.”

Moapa Valley plays at Virgin Valley next week in the annual “Hammer Game.” Moapa Valley hasn’t lost to its neighboring rivals since 2007, but Virgin Valley enters on a four-game winning streak.

“It should be a battle,” Lewis said.
