A woman with a history of child-neglect complaints was arrested today in connection with the death of her 2-year-old son who died from brain injuries last month, according to Henderson Police.

Jazmin Milagros Ramirez, 29, was booked on one count of murder without the possibility of bail at the Henderson Detention Center, jail logs show.

Ramirez called 911 about 10 p.m. March 10 from an undisclosed location and said her son was not breathing, police said. She later said the boy had fallen from a bed.

The boy was initially taken to St. Rose Dominican Hospitals-Siena Campus and died from brain injuries three days later at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, police said.

Further details on the homicide investigation were not immediately available, but police said Ramirez was connected to four complaints filed with Clark County Child Protective Services from 2008 to 2010.

The incidents involved her 9-year-old son and two of the neglect reports were found to be substantiated, police said. It wasn’t immediately clear what actions, if any, officials took.
