Bishop Gorman head coach Kenny Sanchez continues to argue a call as overtime begins with St. Thomas Aquinas during their game to help in controlling a possible three-time national championship on Friday, Sept. 30, 2016.

Bishop Gorman High football coach Kenny Sanchez has been suspended by the school pending the outcome of a domestic battery allegation.

“We wanted to let you know that we take any allegations involving our faculty and staff very seriously,” Gorman President John Kilduff wrote to parents and students to announce the suspension.

On Christmas Day, Sanchez allegedly hit his former girlfriend around the face, grabbed her neck and pulled her hair, according to a criminal complaint filed Jan. 23. They have a child together.

He was arrested Tuesday on a warrant issued after he failed to appear for a February court date, records show. His next court date is May 30.

Gorman officials cannot comment on personnel matters, Kilduff wrote.

Sanchez hasn’t lost a game in two seasons as Gorman ’s head coach, leading them to consecutive mythical national championships. He’s been at the school since 2009.
