Metro Police takes part in Easter festivities with community egg hunts

With the Easter holiday around the corner and local students on break from school, Metro Police and its community partners will host egg hunt events this week.

"A little Easter fun" will take place from 10 a.m. to noon on Thursday at the Stupak Community Center, 251 Boston Ave., not far from the Stratosphere, police said in a news release. The event, geared for kids under 12, will feature an egg hunt, games, prizes and "other fun."

A similar event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday at Lewis Family Park, 1970 Tree Line Drive, west of Hollywood Boulevard, police said.

On Saturday, the holiday will be commemorated at the Cora Coleman Senior Center at 8:30 a.m., police said.

Dozens of kids on Monday afternoon participated in an egg hunt in the central valley where an Easter Bunny and officers were on hand.

Clark County School District students on Monday will resume classes after spring break ends.
