The Clark County Department of Air Quality has issued a dust advisory through this evening because of strong winds.

Dust can aggravate respiratory diseases, and during windy conditions, people with heart or lung diseases, older adults and children may feel better staying indoors as much as possible, county officials said.

Department of Air Quality officials will monitor conditions and post updates on the forecast page of the DAQ website.

Wind gusts in the Las Vegas area this afternoon ranged from about 20 mph in the central valley to 54 mph at Red Rock Canyon, according to the National Weather Service.
