A 51-year-old man was fatally injured when he lost control of his bicycle and veered onto the path of a tour bus Tuesday morning in the far west valley, according to Metro Police.
The accident happened about 10:30 a.m. at West Charleston Boulevard and South Pavilion Center Drive, police said.
The man was riding south on Pavilion Center on a bike lane when he smashed into the side of the bus, which was heading in the same direction, police said.
The bicyclist was taken to University Medical Center with serious injuries and later pronounced dead, police said.
Southbound lanes of Pavilion Center Drive were shut down while officers investigated the accident. No one else was injured.
