How to boost defense budget

I am not a fan of the president’s proposed $54 billion increase in military spending, but that could at least be offset by making some trade-offs with other programs that are less critical.

Specifically, the increase could be totally offset by eliminating $39 billion in no-longer-needed renewable energy subsidies and another $19 billion spent on hard-to-justify manned space exploration.

And regardless of political promises, entitlements will have to be cut.
