Pedestrian hit by car, killed crossing Spring Mountain Road

A 57-year-old Las Vegas woman was hit by a car and killed Thursday night while crossing Spring Mountain Road outside of a crosswalk, according to Metro Police.

The pedestrian was crossing the street west of Stober Boulevard about 10:30 p.m. when she stepped in front of the approaching car, which was headed west, police said. She was taken to University Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead, police said.

The woman was not identified, pending notification of family.

The driver, a 27-year-old Las Vegas man, did not show any signs of impairment and was not injured, police said.

The incident remains under investigation.
