Trump is unfit

It is clear that we have a president who could, because of his mental imbalance, lead us to a nuclear war or break the bonds of our alliances in many parts of the world and turn our country into a lackey of Russia. His budget proposals will hurt millions of struggling Americans and blow a big hole in the budget,adding trillions to our national debt.

Trump does not belong in the White House. The sooner Americans get him out of there, the better. We can’t wait for 2020.

But the Republicans in Congress will not agree to getting Trump out of the White House through either impeachment or a declaration of mental incapacity and unfitness.

We urge Republican voters in so-called safe districts to consider voting for Democrats in the 2018 elections. We also urge Republican voters in states dominated by Republicans to consider voting for Democratic senatorial candidates, also in the 2018 elections. By electing Democrats into majority status in both the House and the Senate, we can get rid of Trump and promote Mike Pence to the presidency.

The GOP would still be in control of the White House, and in the 2020 elections Republican voters could turn around and vote for a Republican candidate for president — most likely Pence — and Republican candidates for Congress and the Senate.

Just this once — in 2018 — we implore our Republican countrymen to consider voting for Democratic candidates so we can restore sanity and nuclear security in the White House.
