Spectators look down on the Nevada Assembly on the opening day of the legislative session, Monday, Feb. 6, 2017 in Carson City.

Lawmakers amended or voted on bills Monday ahead of today’s action deadline, with measures on marijuana apprenticeships and voting centers passing along party lines.

The 79th day of the 120-day session marks a deadline to pass bills out of their original chambers. Assembly members are focused on amending or exempting bills from deadline on Monday, and have a long list of bills up for consideration.

Democrats backed Senate Bill 416 on medical marijuana apprenticeships, which allows dispensaries to create programs for hands-on training, as well as Senate Bill 492, a measure to allow county clerks to set up voting places where any registered voter can cast a ballot in a primary or general election.

The bills are headed for the Assembly after passing the Senate 12-9 on Monday.

Assembly and Senate bills fail to move forward if they do not pass a floor vote or receive exemptions by the end of the day Monday. Bills that do meet deadline need to pass another floor vote before they can be considered by Gov. Brian Sandoval.
