A shooting suspect involved in a fight in front of a liquor store earlier this month had vowed revenge, according to Metro Police.

Cameras that captured the fight showed Andres Garcia-Leal return to the location hours later and follow through on his threat, shooting and killing his target who had punched him earlier, court documents show.

Officers and medical crews responded about 8:20 p.m. April 4 to 605 E. Twain Ave., near Paradise Road, and found Jordan Taitano, 42, gravely wounded by two gunshots. He died at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center.

Through witness statements and security cameras, investigators determined that Garcia-Leal, 19, and Taitano had fought in the same parking lot, police said. Garcia-Leal's lip was busted.

A man told detectives that Garcia-Leal had vowed revenge after the early-morning fight; another witness claimed he'd said he would kill Taitano, police said.

That night, the suspect and victim again saw each other at the parking lot, exchanged words and observed each other's movements, police said.

When Taitano exited the liquor store, he got on his bike and was confronted by Garcia-Leal, who pedaled toward him on his own bike, pointed a gun and fired, police said.

Garcia-Leal was nabbed on a warrant by federal agents as he tried to enter the United States from Mexico in Calexico, Calif., on April 11, police said.

He was extradited back to Las Vegas and booked Tuesday at the Clark County Detention Center on one count each of murder and drug possession for two separate cases, police said. He's next due in court on Tuesday.
